Texas Coastal Community Federal Credit Union, formerly GoodYear BFCU, received its federal charter on August 20, 1963. On October 2, 1963, 57 employees of the Goodyear Chemical Company held an organizational and potential membership meeting of the newly chartered credit union.

By December 31, 1963, membership totaled 198 members. The credit union had an on-site office until 1975 when an acre of land was purchased and a 2400 sq ft building was built. During this time membership and loans were growing at an alarming rate. Another 1 acre tract was bought next to the existing acre and a new 5225 sq ft building was built to accommodate the growing membership and staff.
